Stefanie Trujillo is the City Councilperson Commerce City needs.
Stephanie Trujillo is a proud single mother of three, a Colorado native, and a legal professional with more than 20 years of experience fighting for fairness and opportunity. Her story is one of resilience and determination—raising young children while completing high school, earning her college degree, and building a respected career in the legal field. Today, she’s running for an at-large seat on Commerce City Council to ensure that every family has the chance to build a future here, just like she did. And sometimes we all need a little help and compassion to get there.
For Stephanie, family is everything. It’s what drives her to fight for safer neighborhoods, affordable housing, and a city where the next generation can thrive. She understands firsthand the challenges single-income families face because she’s lived them—juggling child care, work, and school while never losing sight of her goals. That lived experience gives her a practical, grounded perspective on the issues that matter most to working families in Commerce City.
Stephanie has served as president of the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association, teaches as an adjunct professor at the Community College of Denver, and helped lead the rollout of Colorado’s Licensed Legal Professional (LLP) initiative—expanding access to affordable legal services. Appointed by Governor Jared Polis to the Commission on Judicial Discipline, she brings a strong track record of leadership, collaboration, and accountability.
Stephanie understands the diverse needs of the community and is focused on strengthening public safety, improving infrastructure, and making the city more family-friendly for longtime residents and new families alike. She believes in a city council that works together, listens to its residents, and delivers real results.
Stephanie Trujillo is stepping up for the future of families like hers. With deep personal experience, professional expertise, and an unwavering commitment to community, she’s ready to be a voice for all of Commerce City.
